AGM

The AGM batteries have superior technology to acid/lead batteries classics. They are sealed and allow you to have an extended lifespanThe fact that there is no liquid inside makes them optimal for pair them with solar panels and they are maintenance free.

They are more resistant to vibrations than lead acid batteries and may be suitable for more intensive use.

Thanks to this and its tightness, the AGM batteries particularly correspond to uses of small mobility like vans, the camping-cars and the boats.

Acid / Lead

The Acid/Lead batteries are the most common batteries. They allow you to have standard performance with a typical lifespan of around 4/5 years. They are ideal for store energy over a long period of time.

This type of battery is especially suitable for fixed installations like huts, the pastures or the light habitats for example.

Lithium

The latest arrival in terms of technology! The one who represents the best weight/power ratio. Indeed, with almost equivalent capacities between an EV-L5D95 AGM (95 Ah) and total EV-L5LITHIUM (105 Ah) the lithium battery will weigh 14 kilos less ! The lithium batteries are therefore ideal for those looking to gain weight such as for competition for example.

In addition, unlike lead batteries, Lithium batteries can be discharged almost completely (from 90% to 100%) without risk of degradation. Thus a 100Ah lead acid battery (lead acid and AGM) will have a real capacity between 30 and 50 Ah while a Lithium battery can provide up to 100 Ah. People who are looking to save space will therefore have every interest in taking a lithium battery because they allow them to have a more compact battery. Unlike lead, lithium gradually its discharge does not lose capacity, while lead-acid batteries can lose up to 40% capacity in power applications.

Otherwise, temperature, especially extreme temperatures, degrade batteries and their performance. lithium resists these constraints better, for example at -20 ° C, a Lithium battery can deliver more than 80% of its energy, while an AGM battery will only be able to deliver 30% of its capacity. For extreme environments (the cold in the mountains, the heat of a desert), lithium is the ideal solution in order to maintain optimal performance.

The last big advantage of lithium batteries is their longevity. A classic lead/acid battery in real use delivers at least approximately 2000 cycles. Laboratories estimate that several tens of thousands of cycles can be done with a high-quality lithium battery.. Lithium batteries do not require maintenance. However, these are theoretical values ​​which could not be actually verified but simply anticipated.

Gel and

The Gel batteries have superior technology to acid/lead and AGM and constitute a good middle ground in terms of quality/price between conventional batteries (acid/lead and AGM) and lithium batteries.

Indeed, with a longer lifespan (10-20 years compared to 5-10 years for conventional batteries) and a greater number of cycles (900 versus 500), Gel batteries have a number of advantages going for them. Moreover, they are anti acid leak and do not need maintenance.

These batteries are often found in generators or for very long slow discharge uses such as alarm batteries for example. But these batteries are very suitable for more traditional uses, whether for equip vehicles or in off-grid homes.
